Fullscreen Mode

Fullscreen Mode in Transformice is a method of running the game in a way that lets the player play using the full screen rather than an 800x600 windows space. Using fullscreen can be helpful in routing trolls out of hiding spaces, or for showing off. Since the official standalone now natively supports fullscreen, it has become much more widely used.

Many user-made maps are designed to give fullscreen mode users an advantage, by placing cheese or Mouseholes in areas that are not normally visible. A comprehensive guide to fullscreen can be found here.

Standalone Methods

There are many standalone methods available.

Official Standalone Version

The official standalone version made by Tigrounette. There is a version for both Windows and Mac OS, and has several features, such as a server loading screen, quick links, and a sidebar for the latest Twitter updates. Official thread + Download SWF Link: http://exe.transformice.com/VersionEXE.swf

Zoomed Loader File Links

The easiest way to get fullscreen mode is to access the game via these links, and can also be bookmarked for quicker access. This is not a "true" fullscreen, as it has the appearance of being zoomed in. There are Plugins for browsers and Userscripts available to enable true fullscreen, and they are listed underneath the server links.

There are plugins available for Firefox & Chrome, as well as a userscript which can be used in any browser, with the correct plugin.

Add-on Free Loader

Another method that is compatible with all operating systems, web browsers, and servers is the Cheeseformice loader which does not require installation of anything. It can be found here: http://cheese.formice.com/leaderboard/fullscreen

Flash Player

An easy way to achieve Fullscreen Mode is to simply download and run the loader .SWF (ChargeurTransformice.swf) from your computer and run it in a a flash client, such as Adobe Flash Player. The benefit to having the game run this way is that it is easy to choose a desired resolution.

Baffler's Standalone Client

Please note: This only works on Windows-based operating systems and will not work on MacOS or Linux as-is.

Transformice player/moderator Baffler has created a standalone client available to anyone running Windows. It allows for true fullscreen mode, cropped screenshots of the 800 x 600 playing field, and quick and easy access to all known public servers. Links

Dualmouse's Standalone

Holypoop's Standalone Client

Transformice player/moderator Holypoop has also made his own version of a standalone client. As standard, it also offers true fullscreen mode, quick-align mode, zoom mode, and access to all known public servers. It is unique in the sense that it is the first Client to feature tabbed gaming, where a simple keyboard shortcut can load a second (or more) Transformice session without closing the first one.

Fakenoob's Standalone Client

Please note: This only works on Windows-based operating systems and will not work on MacOS or Linux as-is.

Transformice player, Fakenoob, has made his own version of a standalone client. The client is named Transformice+. It's a minimalistic standalone. It requires .NET Framework 2, you can download it on the Microsoft website. There are currently 18 sections of the menu on the standalone. The file size (latest version) is 850 kilobytes. The archived (.zip) download is only 123 kilobytes.

Menu Button Sections

Tabs - Add, close, or rename a tab
100% - No stretching or scaling
Stretch - Makes the flash edge to edge on the tabs container, distortion may occur
Fill - Uses the window ratio to scale the flash without distortion
Quality - Adjusts from "Auto Low" to "Best" quality
Align - 9 alignments
Border - Hides the border around the window
Full Screen - Turns full screen
Transparency - Turns the background or mice transparent
Zoom Controls - Disables zoom controls on right click
Keyboard - Opens Windows On-Screen Keyboard
Music - 6 songs by Wasmachine
Forums - Shows Transformice official forums
CheeseForMice - 4 pages from CheeseForMice
Extras - TransformiceWiki & Shaman Color
Help - Opens a simple help window

Exit - Prompt to close game

Shortcuts

[v4.1-Current] Press CTRL+TAB to switch between tabs.
[v4.3-Current] Right click the tabs or the tabs bar to open the menu.
[v5-Current] Pressing the 0 key on the Num Pad changes to 100% view. Pressing 1-9 keys on the Num Pad changes the alignment (Quick Align).
[v5-Current] Pressing + changes to stretch view and pressing - changes to fill view.
[v5-Current] Pressing F11 makes Transformice+ fullscreen.

Known Issues

You can't combine "Transparent Game Background" & "Transparent Mice", and it's not fixable

Changelog

v5.1 - Changed forums. Forums will now load in tabs. Also, added a few minor aesthetics to other forms.
v5.01 - Pressing F10 now, opens a new window. Pressing 11 now, opens your computer's on-screen keyboard. Fixed the issue where you can only open one window.
v5 - Added hot-keys.
v4.4 - Added "Auto Low", "Auto High", and "Best" quality to the Quality selection. Auto Low uses no anti-aliasing at all and it only uses it when system resources are available. Auto High uses a lot of anti-aliasing, reducing the performance. Best uses the most amount of anti-aliasing, which may affect performance.
v4.33 - Reduced slight RAM and memory usage (not really noticeable). Fixed the "Tab Renamer" to resize the text-box along with the window. Added two new viewing modes, stretch and fill.
v4.32 - Reduced RAM and memory usage (very little reduced). Added a "Tab Renamer". Changed the About dialog box into a window. Renamed the first tab to "Right Click Me" to help out first-time users. Added a help window instead of redirecting to this page.
v4.311 - Reduced RAM and memory usage (Only uses about 5,000k memory on log-in screen on an average computer while the official standalone uses about 75,000k memory.)
v4.31 - Fixed a bug. Tabs moved to the left side of the standalone, yes you have to right click the tabs bar on the left. Removed "Show All" and "View" in favor for only 100%. Reduced the tabs bar size.
v4.3 - Menu button is removed in favor of right clicking on the tabs,tabs bar.
v4.2 - Fullscreen now hides your taskbar.
v4.11 - Added the missing ability to minimize the main window.
v4.1 - Reduced filed size. Changed from .NET Framework 4 to .NET Framework 2 (to add compatibility to Windows XP). Removed the mini-keyboard in favor of the official Windows On-Screen Keyboard. Added tab controls. Simplified menu sections.
v4 - Reduced file size and added the ability to hide mini-keyboard. Memory consumption is reduced.
v3 - Added more sections to the menu button, and fixed the keyboard so you won't bug out of the room.
v2 - Edited the UI and added a few more alignments. Also, added "Songs".

Transformice player CoryZ wrote a desktop client available to anyone running Windows. The project was started before the official desktop clients were published. When it was first released, users could easily switch servers using the drop-down at the bottom of the screen and could maximize the game to fit their screen. The latest version allows users to run multiple instances of the game in tabs. The background can be made transparent. Users can even turn on "Anti-AFK" to make sure they aren't kicked from the game while inactive. If changes are made to the client, it updates automatically.
